In calculated formula questions it is not possible to use the form a x 10 n but it is possible to use E or e with no spaces when inputting the questions though blackboard will convert this to a number when displaying it to students. Students will also be able to answer using E or e for example 1.5e6 or 1.5E6.
When students are putting in answers it is not possible to use the form a x 10 n but for calculated numeric questions scientific notation with a capital E with no spaces can be used, for example 1.5E6. In calculated formula questions either a capital or lower case e may be used for example 1.5e6 or 1.5E6.

To divide fractions, flip the divisor so its numerator becomes the new denominator and denominator becomes the new numerator. Then just multiply the fractions like we did before. For example, divide 3/7 by 2/5. After flipping, 2/5 becomes 5/2 and we end up multiplying 3/7 times 5/2 = 15/14.
To add mixed numbers, we first add the whole numbers together and then the fractions. For example, to add 1 and a half to 2 and a half, add 1 and 2 = 3, then add 1/2 and 1/2 = 1. Finally, add 3 and 1 = 4. Let's have some practice and remember how to simplify results.
