When you click Join Room on the Room Details page or a recording link in the Recordings table, Blackboard Collaborate checks to see if you have the launcher installed. If you do not, Blackboard Collaborate prompts you to download it. When the launcher is installed, clicking a session or recording link triggers the download of a .collab file.

From the Collaborate scheduler, select Recordings and find the recording you want. Open the Recording options and select Delete. Select the Yes, Delete It button to confirm. Deleted recordings aren't permanent and don't count against your storage quota.
Recordings also capture any real time captions or subtitles available during the session. If there are more than one caption available during the session, the recording captures only the first one. More on recordings for moderators.
Chat messages in the Everyone channel. Private messages and chat messages in breakout groups are not recorded. Only moderators can turn recording on in sessions.
This helps ensure that users can only view a recording if they have the link. To allow guests to view recordings, access to the recordings is not restricted and recordings don’t require a password. This means that anybody who has access to the link can watch the recording and can also share the link with others.
Moderators can record their sessions and share them. The recordings are saved as MP4 files. Users can stream or download the recordings to view them. Recordings capture the audio, video, and any content that is shared during a session. Audio is recorded in mono.
To obtain the recording link for distribution, use one of the methods described in Access Recordings in a Recording Notification Email or Access Recordings on the Utilities Pages. Anyone can play any recording (except for Private recordings), as long as they have the link - even if the recording is not accessible from their My Recordings page.
The recording link available in the My Recordings page (by copying it from the Play button) is an internal link usable only by the session owner when logged in to the SAS - it can't be used by others to play recordings.
To play a recording that has been converted to MP3 or MP4, click the. Play button in the Audio (MP3) or Video (MP4) column. The recording will open up in the embedded media player embedded.
To download the file to your desktop or Android device to play it later, click the Download button in the embedded media player. (To open the player, see Playing the Recording above.)
