May 06, 2018 · Saved to my OneDrive as doc and pdf. Both open normally whether from OneDrive synced file explorer or OneDrive Live site, whether in Word Online or Desktop. Copied these files from my file explorer to my husband's OneDrive (on the same computer). The pdf opens as expected but the Word doc formatting and spacing are messed up.

The best way to do this is to open up your Word file, then press (CTRL + A) on your keyboard to SELECT ALL, then (CTRL + C) to COPY the document. This makes sure all the invisible formatting code is copied. Then you can move to Blackboard, click into the area you wish to paste, then press (CTRL + V) to paste.Feb 5, 2013

I have created lots of graphs in Excel which I would like to insert into a Word file as linked chart.
I will try to make a test file (currently work related data included).
The issue is that Word doesn't think the formatting is changing, because Word doesn't think to itself "I'm copying some text in Times New Roman 12pt.". It thinks "I'm copying text in style Normal" or "I'm copying text in style Body Text" or whatever. Unless you've chosen otherwise, all your text is in style Normal.
The text will, however, retain direct formatting. So if, in Document 1, you have some text in style Body Text and you've applied direct formatting to make the text orange, then, when you copy, the formatting will retain the Orange, but lose the characteristics the receiver document has defined as Body Text.
In Word 2007 and Word 2010, formatting depends not only on Styles, but also on Themes. Every document has a Theme applied to it; by default, the "Office" theme. You can apply a theme from the Page Layout tab (Figure 1).
