What is Ultra Experience?

The Ultra experience is the term for the new user interface that is more personalized, proactive, and intuitive for learners and educators. The experience includes a new navigation and activity stream that provides: 1 Quick access to the most critical information to easily stay updated and take action 2 Cross-course perspective to eliminate the need for educators and learners to dig inside individual courses for information (e.g. an activity feed, grades, calendar, messages, etc.) 3 Fast access to other resources “outside the course” (e.g. organizations, system announcements, etc.)

Can instructors use the original course view?

Absolutely! Over time , we’ll keep “ultra-fying” Original Course View features, but instructors can use the Original Course View for a long time. There are no plans to phase out the Original Course View.

Is Ultra self hosted?

No, but we’re going to provide some of what Ultra provides to self hosted and managed hosted customers. The new theme for Original Courses is one example of this. This will provide a new look and feel for both the system and courses (see question six above) as well as make them more mobile-friendly.

What are the details of an event?

Event details include the name, date, and time of a session. Decide if the session is open ended or recurring. Make the name something meaningful for your attendees so they know what the session is for.

How long does a session link last?

You are not able to use the link to join session again or share your link with another user. Session links expire after 5 minutes. If offered by your institution, you can use the telephony feature to communicate with other users. To learn more, see Join by Collaborate Teleconference.

Can you have multiple sessions at the same time?

If you want to run multiple sessions at the same time for students to use as virtual study room, for example, you can create multiple sessions for the different groups to join. Course group tool: If it's for long term group work, create groups in your course and give access to a Collaborate session.

How to view collaborative sessions?

Collaborate sessions open in a new window or tab depending on your browser settings. Go to the course tab or window, if you want to view the course content during a session.
