Blackboard Learn is hosted, delivered, and managed using a modern cloud-computing infrastructure as the environment for our software-as-a-service (SaaS) deployment.
Canvas is utilized in a vast array of schools including community colleges such as Alamo Colleges to all the Ivy League schools excluding Princeton. Since UTSA is largely a transient school predominantly receiving students from Alamo Colleges, it seems only rational that UTSA switch to Canvas to create uniformity.Nov 13, 2020

Each student is issued a UTSA email address ending in @my.utsa.edu. UTSA will use your @my.utsa.edu email address to communicate with all enrolled students, including important information such as financial aid, registration, payment deadlines, bills, grades and more.

Late registration permits students who have been admitted to UTSA to register for classes during an allotted time just prior to and at the beginning of the semester as indicated in the online registration calendar each semester. Since many courses will have been closed at capacity, late registrants may need to select their courses from a reduced schedule. Students are not permitted to register after the close of the late registration period, except in extenuating circumstances. See the section “Adding Courses After Online Registration is Closed.”
Your Registration Status will let you know if you are all set to register or if you have anything you need to take care that would prevent registration. Log into ASAP. Click the “Student Services” tab. Click “Check Your Registration Status”. Select the term you wish to view .
You can make a payment on ASAP or contact Fiscal Services at 210-458-8000 (Option 4) for questions. International Hold. If you have a registration hold related to you being an international student, please log into ASAP to view your hold and complete what is needed.
UTSA offers a schedule planner to help you build the best schedule possible as it considers your needs. You can customize it to include your course preferences and block off time you have set aside for work or extra-curricular activities. We highly recommend using the schedule planner to create a personalized class schedule just for you!
In Create Column Screen: Enter ASAPMidterm for midterm grades or ASAPFinal for final grades as the Column Name (no spaces and capitalization does not matter. Leave Grade Center Name blank).
Set Primary Display to ‘Text’ and Secondary Display to ‘None’, and Points Possible to zero (0).
Scroll to OPTIONS. Select No for Include this Column in Grade Center Calculations.
Click Submit, and manually enter your grades in the ASAPMidterm or ASAPFinal column. Grades must be capitalized: A, A+, B, C-, etc.
ONLY after you have letter grades finalized and are ready to transfer grades to ASAP, set the grade column as the External Grade column. To do so, click the dropdown menu of the column title and choose Set as External Grade. The grade center column will now have a green check in front of the column name. Grades only transfer once. After grades transfer, any changes in Blackboard will need to be made manually in ASAP.
