As soon as you access the tool, an Attendance column will be added to the Grade Center, however all of the grading should be done from the Course Tools -> Attendance tool. To set the external grade, open a column's menu and select Set as External Grade. The Grade Center is accessed from the Control Panel in any Blackboard course. Click the arrow to the right of the Grade Center menu link to access the full Grade Center. *Note: If you have created an Assignment, Test, or other graded assessment, the corresponding column will automatically be created.
You may need to scroll to the right if your columns are not all visible. Click on the drop down menu for the column. Click Hide from Students (on/off). (This will turn on the Hide from Student) A red circle will appear in column heading indicating the column is hidden.

When you create an assessment in Blackboard (Test, Assignment or Turnitin Assignment), a column is automatically created in the Grade Centre and, by default, that column is visible to students via the My Grades tool and the Global Navigation menu.

The fastest way to hide a grade center column is to click the action arrow for the column itself and select Hide from Instructor View. However, this will only hide it from your view of the grade center. If you want to hide it from students, you must first select Hide from Students before hiding it from yourself.
Hidden columns will appear grayed out on the Organize Grade Center page. If you are searching for missing grade center columns to reveal again, the faded names will be a good indicator.
