Respondus Lockdown Browser is an internet browser downloaded and installed by students, which locks down the computer on which they are taking the test so that students cannot open other applications or web pages. Lockdown Browser does not monitor or record student activity.
This view allows the instructor to see the duration of time the student used to take the exam, how many minutes facial recognition was successful, how many minutes they were facing the webcam, and the number of flagged events.
The Respondus lockdown browser detects cheating by using the computer's webcams and microphone to record student's video and audio during a test. It is not possible to use both Respondus Monitor and Zoom together. Adding Zoom to the exam using Respondus Lockdown Browser is not turned on by default and requires instructors to take a few steps when configuring Respondus for a given exam. It is highly recommended that this should be practiced on a no-stakes exam.

Once a student starts the exams their webcam will begin to record the student. Any suspicious behavior is automatically flagged. How To Know If A Lockdown Browser Is Recording You. After you confirm the webcam's set up and start the exam, a recording icon will appear on your screen's top right corner once the exam begins. Until you are done, do not attempt to exit the exam. You cannot access other applications and web pages during the exam.
If the details of your face don't show clearly during the webcam check, the automated video analysis is more likely to flag you as missing.
