Navigating to the Retention Center Log into Blackboard Learn and navigate to a course. 2. From the "Course Management" menu, click on "Evaluation". Then, click "Retention Center".
The Retention Center is a Blackboard Tool designed to help you identify students that may be at-risk in your course and require special attention. The main table displays which students are at risk in one or more of four categories: Missed Deadlines. Grades.
Navigate to Course Content in the app and select a test or assignment. You can see the assessment's details, such as due dates, the number of attempts allowed, and whether it's visible students. Tap Preview to see what students experience when they complete a test or assignment in the student app.

The Blackboard Retention Center allows you to see how your students are performing and efficiently identify students who are at-risk, like those who have not recently accessed the course, have missed assignment deadlines, or scored low on an exam. Because it is integrated into your Blackboard course, you can easily identify which students you need to reach out to and provide them encouragement and support to get them back on track. The Blackboard Retention Center is highly customizable and allows you to decide what you would like to monitor based on Course Expectations and your own teaching preferences. The course activity overview displays overall activity within a single course, sorted by student and date. Data includes the total and average time spent per user and the total amount of activity the user had in the course.
1. At the top of the screen, a red bar will show you how many students are at risk. Click it to get a breakdown of why these students are at risk (missed deadlines, did not log in, low activity in course, etc.)
1. After clicking on a student's name, you can see exactly how many deadlines they missed, how well they are performing against the rest of the class, as well as how much they've participated in the course. Additionally, you can see the last time they accessed your course.
