How does FMES work?

FMES uses the website My School Bucks to add funds via credit card to your students lunch card. You can also set up the account to auto-pay when the card balance goes below a designated threshold.

What is PTO in school?

PTO can be a way for you to more effectively effect change at your child’s school. You can share your skills. Your child will beam for weeks after his parent comes to school and shares his career, hobby, or even just their time helping out at the school book fair. All parents have individual talents they can share.

Why is the PTA important?

By getting involved you can help make positive changes. The PTA plays an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, and social events.

When was Grace Art established?

GRACE Art was established in 1976 by the Greater Reston Arts Center to supplement childrens’ arts experience in the schools. Funded by our PTA, GRACE Art is presented in each classroom by a parent volunteer. This year examples of our topics include Ancient Egyptian Art and Andy Warhol. It's a fun way to get involved with your child's class and provide more art experiences at school. You’ll also become a classroom celebrity - the children love GRACE Art!

Do you have to log back in to special education classes?

No, once a student logs in for the day, the student will not need to log off and log back in for different courses/teachers. Specials teachers will join the classes students are already in. If a child receives additional resources, those students may have to log in additionally with their resource teacher. For example: speech, special education services, ESL.

Does FCPS resurvey parents?

FCPS is not planning to resurvey parents. If and when that time comes and you’ve changed your mind, please reach out to Mr. Moose to see if there is flexibility.

Can students take notes on paper?

All assignments are electronic and will need to be returned electronically, however students are welcome to take notes on paper or turn away from their screens and just listen to the audio.
