“Bundle up for a journey to Ecopoint: Antarctica, the former Overwatch installation where climatologist Mei-Ling Zhou was once stationed. While researching severe weather anomalies in the region, the station was hit by an intense polar storm. Running out of options and low on supplies, the team decided to cryogenically freeze themselves until the storm passed. They believed that it would only be for a few months, but Mei awoke nearly a decade later.”
Overwatch patch 1.5 is now live, adding Sombra – the new hacker hero – along with a new map, the Arcade, and your usual assortment of balance tweaks. The Arcade adds some exciting new game modes that don’t fit Casual or Competitive, like 1v1 duels, and offers Loot Box rewards as incentives to take part. The new map, Ecopoint: Antarctica, takes players to Mei’s old stomping ground, just before her decade-long cryosleep. All the changes below.
There is a bonfire from the game series Dark Souls in one of the hallways in the castle. Balderich von Adler , leader of the Crusaders, was born here according to one of Reinhardt's voice lines for this map. In the instrument shop, the pianos can produce different sounds based on where you hit them.
The town was the site of one of the most famous battles during the Omnic Crisis. It was here that the leader of the Crusaders, Balderich von Adler , and a handful of his best soldiers, including his pupil, Reinhardt Wilhelm, made a last stand against an advancing automaton army.
Blackbird opened in June of 2009, a collaboration between husband and wife Tom and Adria Clark. The pair met in Portland, Oregon, where Tom, a Lakewood native, acquired his baker training. They relocated to the Cleveland area in 2007 with the intention of opening their own neighborhood bakery, and the rest is history!
