On December 14th, WKU Blackboard will transition to Blackboard Ultra Base Navigation featuring many improvements to user experience and navigability within Blackboard.
Faculty can activate accounts on the system by attending an initial face-to-face or online training workshop that covers the basics of using Blackboard. To register for a Blackboard workshop, go to the ITS Training Site and select the appropriate training.

There are four communication tools in Blackboard: journals, blogs, discussion boards, and wikis. Using these communication tools in your course can increase student interactions and build the learning community.
It is easy to use and give everybody the opportunity to contribute. The key to using discussion boards effectively is asking the right type of questions. It is best suited for many-to-many communication where there is not a single answer to a question or problem.
YouTube. YouTube.com allows for the sharing and viewing of videos online. Also it should be noticed that both instructors and students can use YouTube to record and share videos in Blackboard. Note: YouTube videos may not be accessible from the network of some high schools and military.

Classroom trainings are face-to-trainings for individuals or small groups. The objective of these trainings is to introduce the user to classroom technologies such as touch panels, document cameras, DVD players, classroom computers, laptop hook-up, interactive whiteboards (SMART Boards), projectors, and video conferencing.
Video tutorials have been combined with quizzes to provide online training to enhance your knowledge of Blackboard, Adobe software and more. Access online training inside Blackboard from the IT Training tab, or the Online Training tab within the Technology Training site.
Over 300 short video tutorials covering a wide variety of technology topics are available. These tutorials can be accessed anytime, anywhere with internet access.
