How long does it take for Blackboard to close a course?
Jan 30, 2020 · Once Blackboard term expires, about 3-4 weeks after exams are over, students should see the course listed, but may no longer have access unless 1) the instructor has closed the course (e.g., made it unavailable) or marked it complete.
Does course completion impact course visibility on Blackboard?
If students are reporting that they can’t see your course in Blackboard, you likely need to change its availability setting. By default, your Blackboard course starts as “unavailable” to students. There will also be no students in the enrollment list. This allows you time to set up your course before they can access it.
How do I remove a Blackboard course from my list?
Use the search function to find courses on the current page. Browse by term. Move to past, current, and upcoming courses. If you teach a lot of courses, you can choose how many appear on each page. At the bottom of the list, you'll find a page selector to navigate through long lists. View your favorites quickly.
Putting "Old" Blackboard Content in an Ultra Course
WARNING: Blackboard will "let" you copy old Blackboard content directly into an Ultra course shell, but even though the copy job will run, the content will not be copied. You must convert your "old" Blackboard course to Ultra before you attempt to copy into Ultra, and this is true whether you run it as a "copy" job or an "export/import" job.
If your new course shell is still in Old Blackboard
If all versions of your course are still showing in Old Blackboard, your task is very easy. Begin by logging into the course that you wish to copy .
If your new course shell is already in Ultra course format
Until spring, 2023, all course shells will be automatically created in the Old Blackboard format. Unless the instructor has requested that their course be created in the Ultra course format from the start, it will be rare for instructors to encounter an empty course shell in the Ultra format.
