You can create any number of weighted columns, including weighted columns that include other weighted columns. You can create a weighted column that uses the quarters' weighted columns and the final test grade columns to calculate a final grade.
When the columns and categories you select for the weighted column have different point values, Equal weighting converts them to percentages. These percentages are averaged to obtain an equal value for each of the items included in the weighted column. Equal weighting gives each item equal weight when determining the composite grade.
You can select Calculate as Running Total for a weighted column. Columns and categories without grades aren't included in the weighted column's total that displays in the Grade Center.
To find the average of all selected columns, the percentage is calculated to four decimal places. The percentage values for all selected columns are added together. 1. Click on the cell with the existing grade, and type in another grade. Check the Grade Information Bar above Points Possible and Primary Display.
The Grade Center has added the ability to drop or exempt a grade from total calculations.
The Categories page allows you to see a list of all existing (default and user defined) categories and which Grade Center Columns have been assigned to those Categories.
Enter a Name for your new Category. (Be careful not to duplicate an existing Category Name or you could end up with two categories with the same name which can lead to confusion later when you assign Categories to your Grade Center Columns .)
Click the No Category button to reveal a drop-down menu of available Category options.
Select the desired Category to assign to this Grade Center Column from those available on the drop-down list.
Click the Submit button to confirm your Category selection and any other changes you may have made on the Edit Column page. Or click Cancel if you do not wish to apply your Category selection.
If you click the Submit button in the previous step, you will be taken back to the Full Grade Center and there should be a green confirmation bar at the top of the screen informing you that you have successfully edited the Grade Center Column.
In the Ultra gradebook, you can delete attendance if no attendance records exist. In grid view, select the Attendance column heading to open the menu and select Delete. In list view, access the attendance row's menu to select Delete.
You can delete attendance columns added during a course copy.
In the Meeting view, you can mark each student's attendance. You can also use the menu in a status's heading to mark all students present or absent. Then, you can change individual students' statuses or clear all marks. Your work is saved as you go.
In the Overall view, you can add more than one meeting for attendance on a day. For example, if your class met for a field trip after your regularly scheduled class, you can add a meeting and mark who was present. Select the plus icon next to an existing meeting's date to add a new meeting.
In the Meeting or Overall view, you can exempt a meeting that no longer requires an attendance grade. Students' overall attendance grades update to not include the exempted meeting, even if you've marked some or all student cells. You can also clear the exemption in both views.
Attendance data isn't included in a course export or when you copy a course into a new or existing course. The attendance option is removed from the copy and export options.
If you copy a course with attendance data into a new course or an existing course with no attendance data, the source course's attendance data is not copied. One attendance grade column without data is added that you can delete.
