4.21. 376 reviews. January 2022. Smooth Experience as a User + Learner. Using Blackboard Collaborate has made my experience as a student much simpler by organizing all of my deadlines, upcoming assignments, announcements and grades in one location, and gives me the option of viewing that data by class or as a whole.
User Upload allows Administrators to register multiple Supervisors, Moderators or Participants in a single process. The utility requires users be listed in a comma separated value (CSV) format prior to uploading. The CSV format must be defined first and can be configured to your preference.
All usernames must be unique. You can also set a Display Name for users - this is the name that appears in the web conferencing session. It is recommended that you also set the correct time zone for each user. When the user logs in, their My Schedule page will display the schedule of sessions in their local time zone.
You can also have all attendees join as presenters or moderators. From the list of Sessions, find a session. Select Session options and Edit settings. Select Presenter or Moderator in the Guest Role menu.
If the attendee joined from a guest link, they can use the guest link to join again right away.

Blackboard Collaborate is an essential tool for online meetings. Provides more than just voice meetings and allows an interactive experience. This provided an excellent meeting experience for 9-12 high school students in an online environment.
Blackboard provides effective resources to collaborate virtually both professors to students and students with fellow peers. It has several features to assist with collaboration such as live video chat capability, the ability to record lectures or view previously recorded lectures, and host discussions.
The software is very detailed. There are many part to one action, you can control everything you need to. It is easy to learn, which i have had to do. But also it is easy to learn and study on your own. The outcome results for example as on a register, is also detailed and self explanatory.
Blackboard is a great tool for school use. It allows you to stay organized and ahead of schedule. It is also a great way to stay in communication with professors and classmates to ask for help.
I like Blackboard, it is fairly easy to use, it has a feature that will show you your upcoming assignments due, it has a discussion board & email capability so you can contact your fellow students.
It's a nice touch that it's browser-based, so there's no need for students to download a desktop version as it can be accessed anywhere. Students seems to benefit from the instant interaction with the teacher with the two-way webcam capabilities. Uploading files, slides, and videos is smooth and useful.
Overall, I think Blackboard is an adequate software for classes to use as far as the basics go (e.g. putting syllabi and class readings online, administering quizzes and tests, grading). The look and feel of the software can be improved upon and it can be made more user-friendly, but overall, it does an okay job. Pros.
Blackboard Collaborate is—and always has been—designed specifically to meet the needs of instructors and learners.
George Brown College’s (GBC) administration is highly focused on reimagining and providing learner-centered experiences, as outlined in their Vision 2030, Strategy 2022 Plan. Consequently, a core component of the plan—the student’s digital experience— immediately became a top priority. For George Brown’s Digital Learning Environment (DLE) team, this translates into a heightened emphasis on providing students with a consistent, barrierless, and impactful digital experience—one that spans the complete student lifecycle.
The classroom shouldn’t be limited to four walls or 49 video feeds. To meet learners and instructors where they are, the virtual classroom should be endlessly adaptable. When learning circumstances or lesson plans change, the virtual classroom should change with them
For Jacksonville University, meeting students’ educational needs is fundamental to their mission and core to their success. University leaders realized that to attract and retain students, they must offer the premier educational experience expected of a prestigious university. Therefore, Jacksonville University’s leaders sought an educational technology platform that offered flexibility, ease of use, and integration with other campus technology systems—while being straightforward enough for their small team to support reasonably and effectively.
Keiser University, one of Florida’s premier private higher education institutions, incorporates a “students first” philosophy into all it does, both inside and outside the classroom. So, whether Keiser’s leaders were working to enhance courses, ensure programs were achieving the right student outcomes, or positioning faculty to be in lockstep with each student’s progress, one thing was clear—Keiser needed an integrated educational technology platform that could support the depth and breadth of their efforts.
