Written Instructions. Blackboard Learn now has an Attendance tool. For each session, you mark students as present, late, absent or excused. A column is automatically generated in Grade Center and can be included in a “Totals” column for final grades.
Attendance reporting is only available in sessions with an end date and time. Based on the criteria you set, Collaborate tracks if a student is present, late, or absent from a session. Collaborate then sends that information directly to the Attendance page in your Blackboard Learn course.
From the Sessions list, find the session you want. Select the Session options menu and select View reports. Choose the report you want to view and select View Report.
To enable attendance taking, you will access the Attendance tab when creating or editing a session. Select the box that says Share attendance information with LMS. Once selected, you'll be able to set your preferences on time, including when students are considered late or absent.Apr 20, 2021

To mark a pupil as absent, select the absent option from a pupil card's drop down menu when taking attendance. You will then be given the option to specify the attendance code that the absence falls under. Select an attendance code from the drop down menu and click on the OK button.

You can use Blackboard Collaborate Ultra attendance reports to • Send attendance records of Collaborate Ultra session attendees to the Blackboard learning management system (LMS). Maintain records of student session attendance and participation. The attendance tracking function is off by default.
