Earning Points and Keeping Track of Progress Different actions and responses to your posted content in Yellowdig can earn you Yellowdig points if they are activated for your community. The Community Owner or Facilitators can configure rules for earning points.

On your Course page, navigate to Settings → Apps. Then click on the View App Configurations button, followed by the +App button. This URL hides the "Yellowdig" sidebar link by default. This helps ensure that all your students navigate to Yellowdig through the Assignments link at the start of the course.

Yellowdig, on the other hand, is considered an engagement tool and the characteristic that sets it apart from Blackboard is the gamification of participation: a point system that motivates students to earn points for a variety of activities .
To begin setting up points for your course, open Yellowdig and: Under Participation Settings leave both of the top options checked. If you choose to pass points into Blackboard, you should hide that column from students in the Grade Center until the end of the semester.
Yellowdig is a conversation platform that can be linked from a Blackboard course to form a private class community. Yellowdig communities are designed to make it easy to post, comment, share media, and respond to each others’ posts following the conventions of social media apps that students are familiar with.
The Help button is found by clicking on their graphical icon in the corner of the Yellowdig page.
If you have been using Blackboard’s Discussion Board successfully and feel it serves its purpose well, you might find that Yellowdig isn’t a good fit for you.

To sync an individual assignment, select Selected Assignment and select the assignment from the dropdown. To sync all assignments, select Full Gradebook. Note If you previously chose to sync only the overall course score to Blackboard and not the individual activity scores, these options are not available to you. Click Sync.
You can request a manual score sync only once every 24 hours. Manual score syncs are performed after all current automatic syncs, not instantly. Scores sync automatically when assignment attempts are submitted in MindTap and when you enter or edit scores in your MindTap gradebook.
After adding activity links from Blackboard®, your students' MindTap scores sync to Blackboard based on your settings. If needed, you can also request a manual score sync to Blackboard.
