What is Blackboard orientation?

The Distance Education Blackboard Orientation helps prepare the online student for success in the online environment. Students will self-enroll in the organization, which is similar to a course, inside Blackboard. This will ensure students are able to login to Blackboard, and it will allow hands-on experience with navigating and becoming comfortable with Blackboard tasks. Students have the opportunity to practice Blackboard tasks such as posting to a discussion board, taking an assessment, checking grades and more. Online students are required to complete the Distance Education Blackboard Orientation only ONCE; therefore, students do not have to complete it each semester.

What is new student orientation?

The New Student Orientation covers general college information, important policies and procedures, and resources. Students are given information needed to access the Student Handbook and other documents that contain all the rules, regulations, and general information with which students should become familiar.
