If your instructor uses Blackboard for the course, then it should be available to you in Blackboard between the start and end date listed for the course on the BOSS schedule. Your course work should begin on the first day of the term and conclude with the final exam schedule posted on the Academic Calendar.
About course availability. A course must be made available before students enrolled in the course can view or access the course and its content. However, you may want to make a course unavailable during the building process or after a scheduled course has finished. If your course is unavailable, access is determined by course role.

If your course begins on Monday, August 21, you may not see your course in Blackboard until that day. If you are scheduled for a later starting NOVA Online course you may not see your course until closer to that start date.

Log into Blackboard Learn and enter the course. In the Course Management menu under Customization, click Properties. Under Set Availability, check the radio button next to "Yes" for Make Course Available. Click the Submit button.
Open the link in your browser. Blackboard Collaborate is at the top of the screen. It mentions what session you are joining and there is a place for you to type your name. Select Join Session after typing your name.

Mark a course as complete. You can choose to set your course to Complete when the course has ended, but you can no longer make changes to it . Students can access the content, but they can't participate in the course any longer. For example, they can't reply to discussions or submit assignments.
Blackboard administrators, instructors, course builders, teaching assistants, and graders can see and access unavailable courses from the My Courses tab and the course list, but they're marked as unavailable. Students can't access unavailable courses regardless of the course duration.

Your instructor may allow you to submit an assignment more than once for a variety of reasons. For example, your instructor may provide comments on your first draft so that you can try to improve your work.
From within your course, you can click the lock icon in the top right menu.
If your course is set to Private, you can make it available to students by clicking the three dots (…) and choosing Open Course. You do the same thing to make it Private. If a course is Private, students see it in their course list but they are unable to enter it. This prevents student emails.
Don’t get this confused with the first day of classes! First Day is not the first day of classes, rather it is tuition based model in which the cost of digital course materials (textbooks etc.) will be included in the tuition for certain courses or programs.
