UNT transitioning from Blackboard to Canvas Nov. 28, 2017 Beginning in Spring 2018, UNT will implement a new Learning Management System (LMS) and continue to transition courses from Blackboard to Canvas.
Oct 10, 2012 · Beginning last fall, CLEAR began a “phased transition” from Vista to Learn and offered “Blackboard Learn boot camps” for faculty during the summer and fall, drawing about 450 trainees. Some classes are already using the new Learn system, and some students are having a hard time adjusting to the change.
Fall 2018 will be the final semester of Blackboard availability, and prescheduled Canvas bootcamp sessions will again be offered twice a week until all faculty and staff members who will be using Canvas have completed training ahead of the Spring 2019 deadline. The normal load for fulltime undergraduate students is 15 semester hours for each semester, or 30 hours during the long session of nine months. No student may hold a responsible extracurricular office who registers for or earns fewer than 9 hours of college work each semester.
