You could just say 'board' although whiteboard and blackboard are just describing the colour of the board.

The name was changed to chalkboard in part because newer chalkboards were often green and in part to get away from using the word “black.” I doubt that many people take issue with calling a black chalkboard a blackboard, though.
Blackboards are preferable over whiteboards for drawings or designs as blackboards are better in colouring and shading. However, chalk dust can cause breathing problems and allergies, but you won't encounter this problem in using whiteboards. You can decide which one to use based on your needs.Mar 31, 2020

A whiteboard (also known by the terms marker board, dry-erase board, dry-wipe board, and pen-board) is a glossy, usually white or black surface for making non-permanent markings.
It is much easier to read the writing on a whiteboard than a chalkboard due to the clean white background. There is also the added bonus of being able to use different coloured markers easily as they stand out much more than coloured chalk does on a chalkboard.Apr 28, 2014
