The UTRGV Learning Center (LC) assists students by promoting academic success at all levels from freshman core courses all the way through upper-level and graduate courses. The UTRGV Career Center provides assistance to undergraduates, graduate students and alumni who seek help in formulating and implementing career plans. Various programs and workshops are offered each semester to assist students who are selecting a major or trying to relate educational experiences to employment opportunities.
Academic Advising. Academic advising is one of the most important services that a college campus can offer. By providing critical information regarding university policies and procedures, an academic advisor can help the student make essential decisions about his or her academic career.
The Writing Center is to assist and guide you to become a better, independent writer. They can help you with your writing assignments in any course at all steps of the writing process.
The Office of Engaged Scholarship & Learning (ES&L) supports student learning experiences beyond the classroom by integrating hands-on learning opportunities into their academic experience. These experiential learning opportunities, such as service learning, research, or creative works, can help students excel in school, succeed in class, and graduate! Students that commit to experiential learning often connect more deeply to their work, get experience in field-related activities, and make professional career connections. Each year, ES&L presents multiple workshops, provides funding opportunities, hosts an annual conference called the Engaged Scholar Symposium (ES2).
The Counseling Center provides free and confidential counseling services for UTRGV students to address mental health concerns, and seeks to promote personal growth and well-being among our campus community through education and outreach activities.
I will be teaching a fully online course for the first time, what do I need to do?
Submit a Faculty Help Request. Make sure to provide all names, ID numbers, UTRGV email addresses, and the course in which they need to be added or removed.
You will need to submit a Faculty Help Request using the COLTT website. Make sure to provide the course ID, section, semester for each of the sections you want to merge or unmerge. Also, identify the course that will be the parent course. The parent course will serve as the primary course where you will post all of your content and grades.

You can edit the test options and add a user or group in the test availability exceptions area. If the settings exist for a test, you can create these exceptions: number of attempts, timer, availability, force completion and restrict location. There are two methods for accomplishing this, using Bb Learn and using Respondus. Bb Learn On Demand Learning Center features dozens of video tutorials pertaining to Assessing Learners.
Like all semesters, UTRGV is planning the Fall 2021 semester around the safety and success of our students, faculty, and staff. Our plan is to offer 66% of all courses in the Traditional (face-to-face) and Hybrid modalities. Meanwhile, 31% of classes will be conducted completely online (Asynchronously/Synchronously).
UTRGV, following CDC guidelines, business related travel within the state of Texas is allowable for those vaccinated or unvaccinated and outside the state of Texas for those fully vaccinated (14 calendar days since your last vaccine dose).
Personal travel inside and outside Texas does not require the completion of the self-reporting travel form. Travel to the United States’ five permanently inhabited territories (Puerto Rico, U.S., Virgin Islands, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and American Samoa) is considered Domestic Travel.
Members of the UTRGV community who reside or must make frequent trips to Mexico border cities abutting the Rio Grande Valley Counties are not required to complete the travel form. Personal International Travel guidance should be followed for travel beyond the border cities.
