what is above the blackboard in south park chickenlover

by Dovie Davis 9 min read

In Mr. Garrison's classroom, the alphabet poster above the chalkboard is Spanish and translates to the phrase, "Oh my God, they killed Kenny! You bastards!" In the scene where Officer Barbrady cannot read the Stop sign, the symbols translate to "idiot" in Korean.

Trivia

Originally, Cartman was supposed to receive a gun during his stint as a deputy police officer, but Comedy Central's censors were reluctant to show a child with a firearm. The Season One episode " Volcano " depicted children wielding firearms, but it was allowed then as the usage was considered less controversial by Comedy Central.

References to Popular Culture

This episode parodies the long running reality television series COPS which aired from 1989 until its 2020 cancellation. The television show follows real police officers during their patrols.

Goofs

Bebe is seen at the petting zoo in her normal clothes. When seen later, she is running after a rabbit, this time, wearing a blue shirt instead of a red one.

Kenny's Death

During the parade (which happens during the credits), a tree falls and crushes Kenny, killing him.

Hidden Visitor (s)

When the camera is panning the petting zoo, the Visitor is seen petting a horse.

Who misconstures?

"Meanwhile, the boys misconstrue what circumcision entails, and try to save Kyle's younger brother Ike from his upcoming bris." The boys construe what circumcision entails very well: "choppin' up wee-wees". It is the show that misconstrues it, when Ike is circumcised, says "Ouch", and gets up as if nothing had happened. This is not possible.

The Simpsons

Why does it say the simpsons season 2 ??? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ktrosten ( talk • contribs) 03:59, 22 March 2006 (UTC).

Mr. Mackey's head

I have a question: in this episode, it is stated that Mr. Mackey 's head is so extraordinary large because his tie is very tight. However, in Proper Condom Use, he states that while he growed up, his head enlarged, while the rest of his body remained the same. Also, he removed his tie in that episode and his head remained the same.

Censorship

I just watch the episode on canadian channel "The Comedy Network" and it's really uncensored. Mr. Mackey says "bullshit" without being beeped. I then watch the scene on the website, and strangely it's censored. But I think they take the ones of the DVD. -- Pascalbg ( talk) 02:02, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Uncited references

In the original airing, Mr. Mackey tells off Jimbo, stating that he's not going to listen to his "authoritative, right-wing bullshit!" with the word "bullshit" uncensored (marking the first time that "shit" has been spoken on South Park without getting bleeped out ).

Where's the cultural influence info, mkay?

The character Mr. Mackey has popularized the verbal cue "m'kay" in pop culture today. I know the word existed before, but it didn't become common in casual conversation until the year this episode was aired.

Refferance to Mr. Bean?

At the sequence where Ike is kicked on to a train, they are playing a certain tune by plucking violins. It reminds me of Mr. Beans attempt to get in to a postbag in order to leave a train station. Ofcourse we know he ends up in Moscow. Is there a refferance to Mr. Bean? Are there other South Park epiksodes where they mock fun at Mr.
