Why should I keep the blackboard app updated?

In short Blackboard Learn Course Sites are highly optimized for online courses and integrated with the Univeristy of Miami's enrollment and communication systems. Course sites are only accessible to enrolled students, and enrollment is automatically synchronized to CaneLink. Post announcements to the class that viewed in Blackboard AND emailed to students.

What is Blackboard Learn?

Blackboard Learn is the course management system used by University of Miami faculty, staff, teaching assistants, and students. As a result, Blackboard Learn continues to be an important platform for facilitating teaching and learning, with over 25,000 daily users using the system during the fall 2020 semester.

What is an institution page?

The Institution Page includes information and helpful links for using Blackboard and other technologies for teaching. The information on this page is customized for you based on your teaching role. What is the original course view?

By default, all of your courses will continue to use the same look and functionality that you are familiar with, called the Original Course View. After selecting a course from your Courses list, you will find the original course view with the same instructor interface, navigation, features, and tools.

Why isn't the Blackboard app working?

Because UNM uses more advanced technologies than simple HTML pages, in some cases the Blackboard app may not be able to display the content or display it properly. In addition, some features – particularly Flash, Java-based, or QuickTime video – may not work properly on all devices.

When will LDAP be disabled?

LDAP Authentication disabled - May 22, 2021. On May 22, 2021, we disabled an older authentication method, LDAP, for Learn, which will break authentication for users who set up their Blackboard mobile app prior to January 5th, 2021.
