Blackboard Assessments & Grading. You can implement effective assessments and equitable grading practices by utilizing the features and tools in Blackboard Learn which is the centrally-supported learning management system used by faculty and students at UIC.

SafeAssign. SafeAssign, Blackboard’s plagiarism prevention tool, compares submitted assignments against a set of academic papers to identify areas of overlap between the submitted assignment and existing works. Use SafeAssign to review assignment submissions for originality. SafeAssign is only available in Blackboard Learn course sites.
To access Blackboard Learn, students and instructors must use their UIC NetID (do not append @uic.edu after the NetID) and password. Instructors will see their Blackboard course sites 90 days prior to the start of every semester.
Full time (12 or more hours) undergraduate, full time (9 or more hours) graduate, and full time (12 or more hours) professional students are assessed a transportation fee for the CTA U Pass.
Course Overloads Heading link Copy link Students who wish to take more than 18 credit hours in the fall or spring semester, or more than 12 credit hours in the summer term must see an academic advisor in person in the LAS Academic Advising Center for permission for a credit hour overload.
To register for classes, students may use my.UIC.edu The Time Ticket can be viewed within XE Registration system (available via my.UIC.edu) by clicking on the Prepare for Registration tab. Please note that the Time Ticket End Date is the last day to add or drop a course online for all parts of term.
Don't kid yourself: C is a bad grade, and D is even worse. Most students in college are getting A's and B's (at many schools the average grade-point average is between B and B+). To withdraw from all of your courses after the second Friday of the Fall or Spring term you must submit a Term Withdrawal Request at http://registrar.uic.edu/registration/term-withdrawal. Consult your college for more specific withdrawal policies.
Students will use the Add/Drop Portal to drop below 12 hours, add over 18 hours, if there is a college hold, or if graduating. The Add/Drop Portal will only be available through the drop deadline. Log into the Add/Drop Portal to request a course change. Input the requested course information.
