The best thing about UCCS is the relaxed atmosphere. UCCS is an average-sized campus, but classes are generally small, allowing the professors to interact with students on a first name basis. UCCS does not only prepare you for your academic degree, but also for the real world of employment.

The acronym “UC” was used by the University of Colorado for fifty years, beginning when the university opened in 1876. Around 1924-25 “CU” became the official abbreviation, presumably to distinguish Colorado from the University of California.
A stigma often associated with UCCS is that our campus is the sister school to CU Boulder. Although both schools are under the University of Colorado system, many students see UCCS as a downgrade from Boulder. To start a club, you need a club constitution and a minimum of four students. Club registration is during the first 6-8 weeks of the semester. You must fill out a New Club Application Form in Mountain Lion Connect.
