Logging into Blackboard Learn Logging into Blackboard begins at My Tri-C Space. 1. Go to My Tri-C Space (https://my.tri-c.edu) 2. Enter your S number and network password 3. Click on Sign in 4. Click on the Blackboard icon on the Home page or Faculty page You can access Blackboard Learn from the home page or from the Faculty tab.

Blackboard Learn Tools and Resources for Faculty

Blackboard Learn is the Learning Management System (LMS) used to house course materials online. The Office of Online Learning and Academic Technology (OLAT) has compiled a number of Blackboard Learn tools and tutorials to assist you in developing and managing your online courses.

Blackboard Learn Training Sessions

Several training sessions for Blackboard Learn are available, from the Boot Camp for new users to advanced features for experienced users. Search the term "Blackboard" in the Faculty Development Calendar or TEC to find upcoming sessions.

It is possible to upload several different file formats into Blackboard Learn. Please be careful to not violate copyright laws when using any Tri-C platform. What is a blackboard learn?

Blackboard Learn is a Web-based course-management system designed to allow students and faculty to participate in classes delivered online or use online materials and activities to complement face-to-face teaching.

What are the technologies that are integrated into Blackboard Learn?

There are a number of technologies integrated into Blackboard Learn. These include Mediasite, Ally Webex, Collaborate Ultra, and ProctorU. Each is mentioned in this User Guide, but each has their own training session. You will find the training sessions in TEC.

What is a content folder in Blackboard?

Content folders are used for organizing course materials within content areas of Blackboard. A best practice is to create one folder for each lesson in your course that contains all necessary materials students will need for that lesson. This will help make materials easier to find and reduces the amount of scrolling in the Course area.

What is assignment in Blackboard?

Assignments are a type of course content, which creates a link for students to view instructions and submit assignments in the same location. When an Assignment is created, Blackboard automatically creates a column in the Grade Center and instructors can then view and grade the assignments from one central location. Blackboard Assignments streamline the assignment submission process for both students and instructors.

What is the Institution page?

The Institution page has several faculty and student resources, the first of which is the Course Site Request Tool. This is where you will click to get a course site when the time comes to do so. (after training is over)

What is a CLE at Tri-C?

The CLEs at Tri-C are campus-based hubs to support full-time and adjunct faculty. The CLEs are conveniently located on each campus to provide streamlined access for faculty to instructional support. The CLE team includes Sr. Instructional Designers, Instructional Technologists, and Instructional Support Specialists, whose expertise provide a wide range of support to teaching in any modality.

What is a grade center?

The Grade Center is the online grade book for instructors. It serves as a useful tool for you and your students. Students appreciate being able to check their grades on assignments and in their classes online.

What is Tri-C portal?

Every student, faculty and staff member has access to my Tri-C space, which is the College's portal for information. It gives you 24x7 access to general information, news and events, and campus services. The information that appears in the portal is based on your role (s) at the College (student, faculty, or staff). The portal displays content through portlets, which are topic-specific and provide convenient access to information. You can also see your information on file with the College (Financial Aid information, Benefit information, etc.).

Does Tri-C have search?

Yes, the upgraded version of my Tri-C space, which launched on July 13, 2015, has a search feature.
