There will be no automatic migration of Blackboard courses to Canvas. While both are learning management systems, they do have differences in functionality, and some instructors will want to build their courses in Canvas from scratch, rather than migrating a Blackboard course.

How to turn off availability on Blackboard?

Click the small red lock icon at the upper right side of your Blackboard course. Click the button again to turn off availability. Note that the icon is only visible in content areas. For example, if your course entry point is set to Announcements, you won't see the lock.
