You will need to make sure that you have the proper technology for accessing Blackboard. You will need access to a computer or other device with broadband internet.
We recommend using either Firefox or Chrome to access Blackboard. Other browsers will cause errors with uploading files, submitting assignments, etc.

Blackboard Ally is a Blackboard tool that works within your courses to provide accessible course content in a format that works best for you. Collaborate is an online web conferencing tool and can be accessed from within your courses or through a link provided by your instructor. As you are transitioning to a new learning modality, it is essential to keep several key factors in mind. First, your health and safety should always be your top priority. You cannot be successful academically, if you are suffering physically or mentally.
Online learning requires a set of tools that you may not have needed to access (or access frequently) when you were taking classes on the ground.
It is easy to get behind in an online learning environment. You will need to be more independent in managing your time.

The Tuition Payment Plan is available through a service called CashNet. You can access CashNet through your MySSU account. (Visit the Student tab, select Billing Information)
Students that are finished with their rentals should return them to the campus bookstore prior to winter break. Students are encouraged to continue to use their materials through the end of the semester. When students finish with the text, they can drop off at the campus bookstore or print the label to ship the books to the campus bookstore.
The Student Success Center, first floor Massie Hall, provides free peer tutoring in many courses. Click on Request a Tutor, fill form out and submit. The tutoring appointment confirmation is sent to your Shawnee MyMail account. Cancellations can be made by sending an email to [email protected].
