Blackboard Collaborate to Panopto You can download your Blackboard Collaborate recordings for import into Panopto to ensure you maintain access to the recordings from semester to semester. To Download a Blackboard Collaborate Recording 1. Log into Blackboard and click into your course. To access Blackboard Collaborate, click on the “Tools” link on your course menu.

Panopto is a service that allows you to link video and audio (“podcasts”) recordings to your Blackboard courses. You can also record lectures as well (“lecture capture”). Panopto also supports live streaming of events. Panopto videos are stored “in the cloud” (online) and are associated with your Blackboard course.
If you need to edit the recording, you can use the drop down arrow next to the recordings name and select “Edit Recording.” a. This will then open a window that allows you to edit the recording. Go to your Collaborate sessions in Blackboard and click on the menu in the black bar at the top. Select Recordings. Click on the three dots next to the recording you want, and select Download.
As a moderator, you will be able to download the recording regardless of the session settings (if you want students to be able to download the recording you will need to tick the appropriate box in the session settings).
If you know in advance that you want to create a lecture recording which can be edited and reused, it is best to make the recording in Panopto in the first place. If you are recording a live lecture as a backup for people who are unable to attend, you are not normally expected to do any editing.

There are options for audio, video, text chat, whiteboard, sharing desktop, upload files, polls and breakout rooms. The system is capable of handling 250 users in each event (up to 500 in webinars). Webinars can be recorded and used as a revision tool.
