Blackbeard is a middle-aged-looking man with a massive build (his body is round with relatively thin limbs), a big mouth with several broken or missing teeth, a pronounced crooked nose and a very large and hairy chest and torso.
In order to avenge his two sons (Ace and Thatch), Whitebeard fights Blackbeard. Even with Blackbeard's powers to cancel Devil Fruit abilities, Whitebeard deals a critical blow with his bisento, and then proceeds to pin Blackbeard down, grabs him by the throat, and uses his devil fruit to crush him and throw him back.
Marshal D. Teach aka Blackbeard is one of the if not the most important antagonists of the series. He is a very powerful person too, having the two most powerful Devil Fruits and a formidable amount of strength and endurance. However until now he have never shown any signs of having Haki.

After reading up on the events that led to Ace's death, it can be deduced that he was killed by Admiral Akainu. Every One Piece fan who hates Akainu knows this is his most heinous crime.
