Accessing Student Preview To access the Student Preview mode in Blackboard, click on the Student Preview mode button at the top of the page, indicated by two curved arrows surrounding a dot.

Due to legal mandates, Educational Technology staff can only add/remove users from your course with explicit written permission from the instructor. It is therefore more efficient and safer for the instructor to manage the course membership by themselves.
There is no way to “delete” a user from your course. You can only set the course to be “not available” to an individual user. More likely you may to need to change the availaability setting for a student from unavailable to available.

The r e-ordering button in Blackboard is a neat way to re-arrange items on a page, such as discussion forums, weekly folders, etc., without having to scroll and then drag things all the way up and down with your mouse.

One of the most important bits of bookkeeping we all have to do before the beginning of a new semester is to update all of the due dates, availability dates, and adaptive release dates in our Blackboard courses. Fortunately, Blackboard has a tool expressly for this purpose — Date Management.
The biggest advantages of using the Blackboard email tool are that it is very easy to select recipients and, if you check the Return Receipt box, that you have proof that students received the email and get notified about those that did not. Make sure that all, you as well as your students, have their qc.cuny email address listed in the system.
You could use a course-wide Discussion Board to let students talk among themselves about textbook explanations, class notes, assignments or upcoming tests, while the Blog tool can be used for private journals.
