High school students are under more pressure than ever these days to maintain a competitive edge for college – that’s where NUVHS comes in.

Extended School Year (ESY) is based on student eligibility and is for students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Attendance is determined through the IEP team process. Due to the current 2020 shelter in place guidelines, the Special Education Department is contacting families that qualify for the summer program and is making arrangements.
PUSD is not offering a 2020 Summer Learning program for K-8 students. The Summer Math Institute is being offered in a virtual setting, please see below for more information. For Summer School related questions you may contact Shelley Velasco (Elementary) or Debra Pettric (Junior High).
PUSD, in partnership with Los Medanos Community College, offers the Summer Math Institute (SMI) for junior high school students. This program is patterned after the Jose Valdes Math Institute in San Jose. SMI is geared for students entering 7th and 8th grade.
