What is Novastar Prep?

Novastar Prep has a wonderful mission to help kids reach their full potential by providing them with personalized instruction, and it shows in the way the company treats both its employees and its clients! The hiring process for tutors is incredibly selective, making sure that only the best tutors are paired with students and that they are compensated well for their time and effort (unlike other companies I've worked for that underpay tutors significantly). Management is super friendly and caring, and very proactive in making sure students and parents are satisfied with the quality of the service. Great experience working for this company overall!

- Staff is kind, diverse, and genuinely seeking to better education and build confidence in students so that they are successful in education -Most concerned about the people and the relationships that they build opposed to making a quick buck on your child's intellectual challenges -Extremely communicative; emails and phone calls all day to maintain order and keep staff up-to-date -Encouraging atmosphere and upper management staff who are not willing to compromise their record to make money -Always looking for input from learning coaches and ways to improve the company overall -Awards staff for what may seem like mini milestones -Upholds rules and safety regulations for the protection of the staff -Organized database in which clientele and other records can be stored -Timely pay and pay stub records -Respectful, honest, and committed

Is it easy to pick up tutoring assignments?

-Very easy to pick up new tutoring assignments. -No pressure to tutor more students than you are comfortable working with. -Invoices are approved on time, and pay is very good for this type of work. -The management is focused on ensuring that the student meets his/her academic goals and progresses, which is refreshing in an industry where sometimes the main concern is picking up as many clients as possible or forcing clients into more sessions than they are comfortable doing.

What is the mission of Great Mission?

Great mission: they're in it for the kids! They want to hire tutors who are just as passionate and bend over backwards to make sure the tutors are happy and have what they need. The directors are engaged in the goings-on and stay on top of things like schedules, customer service, and making sure that the students really are improving!

Is 9-5 a standard job?

It's not a standard 9-5 workplace because tutors meet with students on their own time at the students' homes and may need support at odd hours. But totally worth it!
