Blackboard is the course management system used campus-wide at NIU. Faculty and TAs use Blackboard to course materials, deliver tests and surveys, hold online discussions, and facilitate many other course-related functions. Both the Original Course View and the Ultra Course View are available.
To access Blackboard Learn, first make sure you are using the recommended browser, Google Chrome or Mozilla FireFox.Go to the Blackboard Learn site.Enter your username and password. Your username is your 8-digit NWTC ID number. Your password is the password that you created upon registration.

As we've said before, we intend to offer mostly face-to-face classes in the fall. We expect more capacity for dining and housing (with roommates!), social activities, arts and performances, athletics and other in-person events.

NIU will accept completed transfer work with a grade of "D" or better. Please be advised that a grade of C or better is necessary to meet the requirements for many foundational studies courses, prerequisite courses, majors, minors and certificates.
