Your Blackboard username is the last 8 digits of your Photo ID number. While this number can be referenced on the physical Photo ID card, you can also look up the Photo ID number by using the Photo ID Lookup tool. Blackboard. Blackboard is the course-management system that Triton College uses for online, hybrid, and enhanced teaching and learning. Blackboard enables instructors to provide students access to course materials, communication tools, online assessments, and grades, as well as the ability to submit assignments electronically.
To be successful in an online course, students should be: Comfortable using technology. Understand how to navigate Web sites. Have regular access to a computer. Able to communicate well in writing. Self-motivated and self-disciplined.
Triton College participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA), such arrangement authorizes the State of Illinois to take part in a system of interstate reciprocity that establishes national standards on distance education. Out-of-state students interested in enrolling in any of Triton College’s online programs must reside in states that are part of the SARA agreement.
A student who registers, fails to attend class and fails to officially withdraw from the class, is still responsible for all tuition and fees. A student who receives grades for a class, but does not pay, will be subjected to collection fees when the unpaid balance is turned over to a collection agency.
You will not have access to Blackboard until your account is created. Your user name and/or password may be incorrect. Your Blackboard user name is the last eight digits of your photo ID number and the password is the last four digits of your Social Security Number. Your user name and password do not change.
Weekend classes are offered on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday. These courses may be Fast Track or full-semester length classes and can be either on or off campus. Weekend classes are ideal for mature students who work during the week or have family obligations which make week day classes difficult.
