The ELD Awards Ceremony at the end of the year is one of my favorites! I love to see the progress our students have made, not only with their English, but with their confidence. Many of our students begin new friendships and establish new goals for education beyond Ferris, and that is so exciting.
I have too many wonderful Ferris memories to pick one! The best part of Ferris is feeling like we are all one big, caring family.
I did Ham On Regal for years. I was already a part of the school community. It felt amazing to be part of the parent community.
I have many great Ferris memories but a few that stand out are working with Link crew students to support our refugee population, lunches with my fellow history teachers, and seeing kids who told me they would never graduate walk across the stage.
So many to choose from...playing Friday night football games at Albi, learning from great teachers like Mr. Sullivan (who turned me into a reader, gave me my first copy of Fahrenheit 451, my favorite book), but I'd have to say my favorite memories are the lifelong friendships that I made here.
Wayne Gilman Memorial chain ceremony at Rubber Chicken 2004. The Ferris Family takes care of our own!
The drive-through graduation for the class of 2020. I loved seeing all the students and having time to talk with them and their families. It felt like we truly celebrated each student.
