What is the mission of MCC Blue River?

The mission of Campus Life and Leadership at MCC-Blue River is to complement the academic program and enhance the sense of community on campus. The goal is accomplished by providing opportunities for students to develop, implement and participate in social, cultural, intellectual, recreational, governmental, leadership development and community service programs and events. These co-curricular experiences provide students with leadership skills that can be utilized in future educational, community and professional work environments.

What is a cyber security club?

Interested in learning more about the growing cybersecurity field? The Cybersecurity Club provides students who are interested in cybersecurity with the technical resources needed to advance their career in computer security.

The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) NSLS is an organization that helps people discover and achieve their goals. This is done by offering life-changing lectures from the nation's leading presenters and a community where like-minded, success-oriented individuals come together and help one another succeed.

What is Phi Theta Kappa?

Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society of two-year colleges. Students are invited to join after attaining an overall 3.5 GPA in 12 hours of college credit, but may also participate in activities as provisional members until they become eligible for membership. Active members have opportunities to develop leadership skills, participate in academic enrichment activities, and develop friendships with fellow Phi Theta Kappa members from all over the country. Membership also qualifies students for many transfer scholarships reserved for Phi Theta Kappa members.

What does SGA represent?

As a representative, you will bring forth student perspectives to decision makers within the faculty, staff, and administrators. The SGA also approves funding for all student clubs, encourages participation from all students in campus activities, and serve on college committees.

How long can you check out of Blue River?

Materials put on reserve by Blue River instructors may be checked out for two hours. Reserve materials may be photocopied, but may not leave the library. A photo ID is required to check out reserve items.

What is an ILL loan?

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a system that allows library patrons to obtain books and articles from other libraries. Students and employees of the Metropolitan Community Colleges may use this service. MCC is a member of MOBIUS and participates in OCLC. Delivery time varies, so plan ahead and order early. All ILL items must be returned to the MCC library that obtained them for you. Contact the library for more details.

Why are ARC users expected to conduct themselves?

Library and ARC users are expected to conduct themselves so that others will not be distracted from the pursuit of learning. Please help us keep the Library a congenial place to study or do research.

Can you eat in the library?

Food is not permitted in the library under any circumstances . Drinks are not permitted while using computers, but drinks that are covered may be brought into the library. Please confine all other eating and drinking to the cafeteria.
