Degree Requirements Unit-Outline

A baccalaureate of arts degree requires a total of 120 units:#N#The math major requirements consist of 49 units;#N#General Education (GE) & Graduation Requirements (GR) consists of 57 units;#N#Free Electives may consist of 14 units (actual number of free elective units may depend on GE/GR units).

Course Description

Operations Research (OR) refers to the science of decision making. This course provides a fundamental account of the basic results and techniques of Linear Programming (LP), network optimization and integer programming (IP) in Operations Research. Pre-requisite: MATH1030.

Semester Corequisite: MATH 3013#N#Mathematical content knowledge and skills related to the K-8 curriculum, at the conceptual depth required for high-quality teaching. Skills and concepts to include polynomial and other nonlinear functions, and geometric reasoning about figures in 2 and 3 dimensions. Lab activities intended to support students in flexibly using fundamental skills required for passage of MATH 3013. Recommended for students registered in MATH 3013. Directed self-placement in this course is based on mathematics department assessments and consultation with an advisor. Graded Credit/No Credit. May be repeated for credit 2 times for a total of 2 units.
