They sell giant slabs of whiteboard material at Lowe's for hella cheap. It's in the siding/lumber section. You can get a 4 ft x 6 ft (or similar dimensions, idk what size exactly, but it's big) for like $15. Granted, it's just the board material and nothing more. No mounting. No marker tray. Not super nice material.

Thanks to the wonderful teachers over at Proteacher, I learned that you can get huge sheets of showerboard at Lowe's or Home Depot–and they work just great for whiteboards!
