When the File Download Installer dialog box opens, select Run to open the Respondus Lockdown Browser Installer. Click the Install button to install Lockdown browser to your computer. Updating Respondus Lockdown Browser. To update to the latest version of Lockdown Browser, follow these steps: Start the Respondus LockDown Browser application.
Launch the LockDown Browser. If asked, type the admin name and password for your computer. Lockdown Browser should automatically take you to Blackboard’s login page. Log into Blackboard as you normally do and open the course containing the test. Locate your exam and click it to begin taking the exam. (The Lockdown Browser will launch.)
LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment in Blackboard. When students use LockDown Browser to take a Blackboard test, they are unable to print, copy, go to other websites, access other applications, or close a test until it is submitted for grading.
Configuring Respondus Lockdown Browser for the test Log into Blackboard and the course that contains the test. Expand “Control Panel” then “Course Tools” on the course menu on the left. Click “Respondus Lockdown Browser”. Click “Continue to Lockdown Browser“.

Browser lockdown software can't see you or hear you because it does not require a webcam or microphone. If online exams aren't monitoring video and audio, students can use study resources such as textbooks and take the exam with a friend.Jun 2, 2021
In conclusion, Lockdown browser is a safe product to use if used correctly. It does not cache student data and will not run in the background. The risks and vulnerabilities have been evaluated and should not be high enough to concern students.
Students simply log in and navigate to the exam, just as they would in a regular browser. If a student tries to access the exam using a standard browser, they will see a message indicating that they must instead use LockDown Browser.Jan 11, 2022
This view allows the instructor to see the duration of time the student used to take the exam, how many minutes facial recognition was successful, how many minutes they were facing the webcam, and the number of flagged events.
Respondus lockdown browser cannot detect mobile phones or mobile devices because it is designed to operate in a computer and apply the webcam. By functionality, Repondus monitor can only help record students during an examination using webcams.Mar 7, 2022
