The Notice of Determination outlines the process for continuing the appeal and it states that the owner or agent has until July 15 (Real Property deadline) and until July 20 (Personal Property deadline) to appeal to the Board of Equalization.
All real property owners have the right to appeal each year during the appeal period which this year is May 1, 2021 through June 1, 2021.
All real property owners will receive a Notice of Value in May 2021. The market approach to value must be used to determine the value of residential properties. State statute requires that the market value of a home is to be determined by sales of comparable residential properties that occurred from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2020, for the 2021 reappraisal and the 2022 intervening year.
