On the Course Content page, in the Details & Actions panel, students can select View archive to read past, active announcements. They may also select the Search announcements icon and type keywords to locate a specific announcement.
Canvas Announcements. Announcements allow you to post messages to your course and are sent to students according to their notification preferences (the default setting is to notify students via email immediately).
Announcements are one of the first things students see when they log onto Blackboard and enter your course. They are the best way to post information about upcoming tests, assignments, or other events. Click on the drop-down menu (2) and choose "Show Link" or "Hide Link" (3) to Show or Hide that content link. If a link is hidden from students, you will still see it but it will be missing from your students' course menu.
Students may be able to reply to announcements, but replies are not considered to be a conversation and do not appear in the Inbox. Use Announcements to: Remind your students what they need to accomplish to stay on track.
Students can view Announcements in three ways: in Canvas using the Announcements tab; in Canvas pinned to the course homepage ; or as an email. Instructors can also let students reply to Announcements . Those replies are visible to all course participants.

Drag the bar to reorder announcements to new positions on the page. Move priority announcements above the bar to pin them to the top of the list and prevent new announcements from superseding them. Students see announcements in the order you choose. Students don't see the bar and can't reorder announcements.
The colors map to these percentages: > 90% = green. 89–80% = yellow/green. 79–70% = yellow.
Locate the link you want to show to students, and hover your cursor over the link you want to show. Click the chevron button that appears next to the link.May 16, 2018

Content areas, such as Users, Courses, Institution, and Library, are folders stored under the root folder. A folder is automatically available to the user who created it, and may also be visible to other users if you create it in the course area.
