I'm using Moodle 1.9.5 and to link the files I copy the ppg directory to moodledata/ {coursenum}/ppg, then replace "ppg" with "http:// { domain }/moodle/file.php/ {coursenum}/ppg" in the .dat file.

I tried many variations of the import using TestGen 7.4.3 for a math instructor without success (including the ExamView option, the file never finished loading). I was looking for an option that would not involve copying the .ppg directly to the server. All the images (Venn diagrams/tables) and symbols seemed to have come across so far.

Ana, once the exam is imported, can it be copied or exported to other courses without having to update the path to the images/ppg folder?

I tried just doing a find/replace where I searched for "ppg" and replaced it with "/file.php/101/ppg/." 101 is the course number. I wanted to avoid having the full URL in the file, but it seems to work fine.

You might want ot try creating a test in TestGen and then export it as a Blackboard file. In Moodle, import test as examview_blackboard file. This way the images are uploaded at the same time as the questions.

Exporting this way creates a .zip file, right? Do you then import the .zip file, or the .dat file within? I don't see an option for importing examview_blackboard in Moodle 1.9.5, only an "Examview" option, and haven't had any success with that.
