To enable late submissions, use the Allow submissions after the due date? option and select yes. The default setting is no. When enabled, students will be able to submit papers after the due date and time has passed as long as that student has not already submitted a paper to the assignment.
If your request is reasonable, I will generally give you an extension until that time. For an unexcused late assignment, there is a 10% late penalty as soon as the assignment is late, with an additional 10% penalty for every 24 hour period that passes until it is submitted.
All Submissions will trigger notifications generally whenever a student submits work on time. By default, this notification is turned off, indicated by an "X" inside a green box. Late Grading sends notifications whenever a student submits work late.
Enter the due date for the assignment. The due date will display to the student on the submission screen after they click the Assignment link. Students can still access and submit the assignment after the due date passes, but any submission arriving after the due date will be marked “Late” in the grading interface.
Usually, submissions which are late by up to one week are capped at 40. Over one week, the work is awarded 0. You'll need to factor this 40 mark into your calculations for your final degree classification.
Accepting late work and marking it makes the students feel valued. It also helps instructors know how students can perform. Without knowing this it is hard for instructors to plan future lessons. Exceeded Time Limit Behaviour (for a quiz with an Enforced Time Limit) If the student has not submitted the quiz after the Enforced Time Limit and the grace period have expired, the quiz attempt will be flagged as "exceeding the time limit."
Contact your instructor to ask for the opportunity to resubmit the assignment. If you may make another attempt, select the assignment link in your course. Start New appears on the Review Submission History page.
