Click the assignment link for the assignment you need to submit. On the Preview Upload Assignment page that appears, click the Browse My Computer button. Click Downloads. Double-click the Microsoft Word file you want to attach to your assignment (in other words, double-click the file you just downloaded).
Go to the new central "Files" repository; Create a new File (instead of a package) from the "Upload" pulldown menu. This will open a (Java) download dialog.
