Final Update on SYEP Placement

Even though the program starts today technically, I just got my placement information. I guess if you're having problems with your provider you might want to just stay patient. I'm still annoyed for it taking so long but it's whatever. Can't wait to see the next problem I have with them.

I'm guessing that the July 6 start date was more of a suggestion for providers, and not a fixed part of the schedule. Either way, that point was not well communicated to participants. I want to start getting paid already, I have college to save for.

Update on SYEP Placement

My provider, Laguardia, made it clear that the program starts tomorrow for everyone in my age group. I still haven't got any email regarding my placement. I tried to call yesterday and today but it keeps telling me that their offices are closed.

I’m supposed to start Monday and I haven’t received a location or supervisor yet. It’s 6 pm on Friday and usually offices are closed on Saturday and Sunday meaning they most likely won’t be sending out emails or responding this weekend. What the heck : (

Hi there, I see a few other redditors have the same problem as me regardless of provider. I signed up for CUNY Recovery Corps and no one has told me if my start date is tomorrow or the 12th? I also don't know what business I will be helping.

My provider finally sent me an email..

All it said was that they will not make up for pay that I am owed because they didn't assign a job to me in time. No other information.
