The first thing to try if a wet paper towel is not removing chalk marker is to add a little vinegar. Start with a 70% water 30% vinegar mix and go up from there. If vinegar and water are not doing the trick try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

After trying soap and water, Clorox wipes, all-purpose cleaner, vinegar, a magic eraser …and let the list go on… I couldn’t find anything that would work.
Before drawing anything, you need to season your chalkboard using a white chalk stick and a dry cloth. In the context of chalk marker art, “seasoning” is basically the process of preparing the chalkboard to prevent cleaning problems in the future. I highly recommend that you don’t skip this step.
