The Blackboard Instructor app helps you easily identify courses where you need to grade student submissions. Instructors and graders can review, annotate, grade, and publish the grades to students.
Students don't see their grades until you post them. You can post grades as you go or all at once when you've finished grading. Each time you add a grade, feedback, or inline annotation, your changes are securely synced to Blackboard Learn and all your devices.
Instructors can grade assignments in the Blackboard Instructor app, and can grade all other items in a web browser view of a course. Blackboard app for students on the Grades page: Students tap a graded item to see their attempts, scores, and feedback depending on the item type.
The first block of information in the course overview is the Needs Attention section. This section shows assignments with submissions ready to grade or post. You can tap an item to start grading.
In the Ultra gradebook, you can delete attendance if no attendance records exist. In grid view, select the Attendance column heading to open the menu and select Delete. In list view, access the attendance row's menu to select Delete.
Many instructors who teach face-to-face and blended courses use attendance data as part of their students' overall grades. Also, some institutions and programs have attendance policies that require instructors to track the number of class meetings students have missed. Instructors and institutions also use attendance data in these ways:
In the Meeting view, you can mark each student's attendance. You can also use the menu in a status's heading to mark all students present or absent. Then, you can change individual students' statuses or clear all marks. Your work is saved as you go.
In the Overall view, you can add more than one meeting for attendance on a day. For example, if your class met for a field trip after your regularly scheduled class, you can add a meeting and mark who was present. Select the plus icon next to an existing meeting's date to add a new meeting.
In the Meeting or Overall view, you can exempt a meeting that no longer requires an attendance grade. Students' overall attendance grades update to not include the exempted meeting, even if you've marked some or all student cells. You can also clear the exemption in both views.
Attendance data isn't included in a course export or when you copy a course into a new or existing course. The attendance option is removed from the copy and export options.
If you copy a course with attendance data into a new course or an existing course with no attendance data, the source course's attendance data is not copied. One attendance grade column without data is added that you can delete.

Blackboard Learn allows you to download the whole Grade Centre for a course, or selected columns, which can then be opened and worked on in a spreadsheet application such as Excel, and later re-uploaded into the Grade Centre. This has many benefits such as:
NOTE: This process can also be used if there are no marks yet and you want to enter marks.
When the file has downloaded, open it in editing software such as Excel.
If you included Comments when downloading a Grade Centre column (even if there were no previously-entered comments), you will see four comment-related columns in the downloaded file:
When editing is complete, save the file, return to the Full Grade Centre in your Blackboard course, and click Work Offline > Upload. Browse for the file, and press Submit.
