Blackboard: Allowing Another Attempt on an Assignment
Multiple Attempts The number of submissions and the ability to re-submit an assignment is controlled by the Instructor of a class. If the assignment is set to allow re-submissions, then when you go back to the assignment, a button will appear near the bottom of the screen labeled "Start New Submission."

In the Control Panel, click on Grade Center > Full Grade Center. Hover over the test attempt that you would like to reset, and click on the drop-down arrow. Select View Grade Details. The student will be able to re-take the test.Feb 16, 2018
If it is available, to make it unavailable, click the action menu associated with it, and click Edit Test Options. Under Membership, click Browse Then find the student(s) you wish to give access to the test again. Click Submit when finished to add that student to the adaptive release.

On the screen that appears, find the submission near the bottom of the screen. To the right of the entry, click the button labeled Clear Attempt. Click OK on the popup window that appears. Once again, this is not reversible once chosen.
Hover over the cell and click on the contextual menu on the right side of the cell. Then select the View Grade Details from the drop-down menu. On the following page, click on the Clear Attempt button or Allow Additional Attempt. Clearing the attempt will completely remove the student's first attempt.
