Apr 24, 2015 · Individual students often need a few more days to complete an assignment (not a quiz) and currently there is no way to grant individuals extensions to the deadline without affecting the whole class. We need to be able to select an individual in an assignment and give them an extension of n=X days before their submission gets marked as late.

Blackboard: Set Test Exceptions. Test Availability exceptions allow instructors to make special exceptions to the time limit or test availability of an existing Blackboard test for students who need additional time or need to take a makeup exam.
The Review Status tool allows instructors to track user review of specific content items. After an instructor turns on the tool for an item, students track their progress. A Needs Review button appears with enabled items. After reviewing the item, a student selects this button to mark it Reviewed.
Exceptions to existing availability settings are set in the Test Options.
Scroll down to Text Availability Exceptions, click on the Add User or Group button and select the User (s) or Groups.
Exceptions to the existing test settings are set here. For example, if the test is available until a certain date and time for the entire class, the professor can allow a student or group of students more time by extending the availability in this section.
If changing the availability day and time, you CANNOT choose the Due Date option which reads "Do not allow students to start the Test if the due date has passed." This option would prevent the exceptions from working.
For a specific group assessment, you can give an individual group an exception for extended access, even if the group assessment is hidden from other groups. The exception overrides the conditional availability settings applied to everyone else for only that specific assessment.
However, you can change individual group members' grades if you feel their contributions earned grades different from the group.
Assign the same grade to the whole group or grade each team member's contribution separately if everyone didn't contribute equally. You can't change grade settings or group membership after you've started grading.
